Objectives
mobile IT Forum (mITF) was created to perform research and development on Future Mobile Communications including mobile commerce services, studｙ on its standardization, conduct coordination with related bodies, collect information, and carry out promotional and educational activities, and thereby contribute to sound utilization of radio spectrum.
Activities
mobile IT Forum will carry out the activities listed below to achieve its objectives.
(1) R&D on Future Mobile Communication Systems and Services, including the fourth-generation mobile
communications systems and mobile commerce services, etc., and studies on its standardization.
(2) Collection, exchange and provision of information relating to Future Mobile Communication Systems
and Services
(3) Correspondence and coordination with institutions concerned with Future Mobile Communication
Systems and Services
(4) Promotional and educational activities for Future Mobile Communication Systems and Services.
(5) Other activities required to fulfill the objectives of the Forum.
Establishment
mobile IT Forum was inaugurated on June 25, 2001.
Members and Special Members
mobile IT Forum comprises of the following members that agree with the purport of the Forum and
submitted an application for membership.
(1) General Members: A corporation or organization that paid an annual membership fee of 200,000
yen.
(2) Individual Members: Individuals in the academic circle, etc., approved by the Steering Committee.
The Chairman of the Forum has the authority to seek the participation of those who are deemed necessary
to carry out the activities of the Forum as Special Members.
