(1) Mobile Commerce Committee
A. Objectives
Mobile Commerce Committee aims to contribute to the promotion and dissemination of mobile commerce by forming a consensus within the industry at an early date while facilitating necessary standardization in the field of mobile commerce, which is expected to develop on a global scale, and to contribute to create new mobile content service business market which can expect a bigger economic ripple effect by observing mobile lifestyle of mobile user of Japan where literacy is high in view of a global level.
B. Mission
The missions of Mobile Commerce Committee are to promote the development and standardization of mobile commerce, and to contribute to the advancement and growth of mobile content service business market.
C. Near-Term Activities
Promote the development and standardization of mobile commerce services with a scope limited to the areas relating to cellular phone services and mobile networks.
- Adopt Internet standard technologies in principle.
- Study the necessity of standardization particularly for mobile EC, and conduct profiling based on standard technologies.
(2) Technical Sub-Committee
A. Goals of Activities
Contribute to facilitating development and standardization with an aim to disseminate mobile commerce services that could be accepted worldwide.
B. Near-Term Activities
Studies on infrastructure technologies widely used for mobile commerce.
- Studies on commonly used authentication techniques.
- Reinforcement of service models and extraction of issue of practical use aspect.
(3) Business Promotion Sub-Committee
A. Goals of Activities
Contribute to facilitating standardization form the viewpoint of users with an aim to disseminate mobile commerce services that could be accepted worldwide.
B. Near-Term Activities
Verification and study on issues relating to electronic payment services.
- Issues on "Osaifu keitai"(Mobile phone having wallet capability), interoperability, serviceability etc .
Commerce security
- Extraction of Issues on electronic payment and protection of personal information.
Propaganda activities aiming at spreading and promotion of mobile commerce.
(4) Content Service Sub-Committee
A. Goals of Activities
Contribute to new business market creation by conducting analysis of Content Service and its business scheme and by studying desirable system from the viewpoint of Content Service.
B. Near-Term Activities
- Mobile user's use trend survey.
- Information acquisition and exchange of opinions by seminar holding.
- Study of the proposal towards contents service advancement.
